Challenges Overview

With the information you've learned in this lab, you should be able to make the edits listed in this challenge activity. These are the common tasks that people will often find themselves doing once they begin creating custom themes.

Challenge 1

Change the line under the "All" menu shown in the picture below.

Challenge 2

Change the color of the Unified Navigator's text.

Tip: There are two different theming hooks that control the Menu Items separately from the Application Menu Items.

Challenge 3

Change the color of the Unified Navigator's arrows and lines.

Challenge 4

Change the color of the Unified Navigator's Icons. (Bonus if you change the color of the hover state as well!)

Challenge 5

Change the color of the App Pill's background

Challenge 6

Change the text highlight color in the list view.

Challenge 7

Change the background of the All menu (it should currently be white).

Bonus challenge

Try changing the colors of the login screen!

❗❗The Epic of Theming (Ultimate)

The biggest challenge in theming is creating your own dark theme. Currently Theme Builder is not able to create a custom Dark Theme variant for Themes created through it, so our guidance is for customers who want to have a Dark theme to use the OOB Polaris theme and it's dark variant.

Some people out there try to create their own dark themes. So give it a shot! We don't have much guidance for creating your own dark theme, but it should prove to be a great challenge to test out your new skills.
